The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah has expressed his hope to reopen Ras Lanuf oil terminal after the tugboats have been provided to the port.

NOC said in a statement that Sanallah visited the Ras Lanuf petrochemical complex and met with elders from the region telling them of his appreciation for their role in helping reopen the facility.

"We will give our strongest support for the reopening of Ras Lanuf complex." Sanallah said.

The NOC chairman visited the ethylene factory and control room, medical centre, fire station, and port terminal marine docks.

"Sanallah also expressed hope for regional prosperity and the stimulation of the local economy based on polyethylene manufacture." The statement reads.

It adds that Sanallah also gave instructions regarding the general management of security, safety and sustainable development in coordination with the Al-Sidra Municipal Council - contributing to regional corporate social responsibility and sustainable development programs; in accordance with other commitments and allocated budgets.

"The chairman held a meeting with the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) commander of the eastern and central regions, Naji Hamad Al-Maghrabi. Sanallah thanked the PFG commander and eastern and central region guards for their defense of facilities during the Gulf of Sirte crisis." According to the NOC statement.
