The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said the sixth round of the 5+5 joint military commission talks would kick off on Tuesday in Sirte.
"In order to advance the implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement signed in Geneva on 23 October 2020 and to build on the progress achieved last week in Ghadames, the 5+5 Joint Military Commission will re-convene for a sixth round of talks from 10 to 13 November in its new permanent headquarters located in the city of Sirte (Libya)." UNSMIL said in a statement.
UNSMIL added that it would be supporting the talks in Sirte, saying participants are expected to complete discussions over a ceasefire implementation as well as the formation of specialized sub-committees.
UNSMIL held five previous rounds of the 5+5 military commission talks - four in Geneva and one in Ghadames on November 2-4.
Government of National Accord (GNA) members of the military commission landed in Ras Lanuf oil port (175 km to Sirte) Tuesday morning and then drove to Sirte, according to Volcano of Rage Operation.
The operation's media office said the plane didn't land in Gardabiya Airport in Sirte as it was occupied by Russian Wagner Group mercenaries who deployed anti-aircraft systems, denying the GNA delegation a landing in there.
The media office said Monday that a new group of Wagner Group mercenaries boosted their positions in western Sirte in Khazzan and Jaref areas, installing new radars upon their arrival.
