MP Nasr Asir has condemned the acts of some armed militias affiliated with Khalifa Haftar who prevented Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah from visiting the city of Ghat in the south after closing its international airport.

In a statement Friday, Asir described such acts as illegal and said that the people of the region were placing great hope on the PM's visit.

"They want the government to look into their suffering and into the lack of essential services to include it under the government-led "Return To Life Program."

The MP called on the Presidential Council to intervene urgently and assume its responsibility towards these actions to ensure civil peace in the region.

It is noteworthy that this is the second time that the head of the Government of National Unity PM, Dbeibah, has been prevented from visiting the city by pro-Haftar armed militias.
