Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita has said that the greatest risk for Libya is an institutional vacuum.

In a joint press conference with his Maltese counterpart, Evarist Bartolo, Bourita stressed the need for Libyan institutions to continue their work.

Holding elections is the proper framework for resolving the issue of legitimacy and duplication of institutions, says Bourita, highlighting that it is a starting point for strengthening stability in Libya.

The Moroccan minister said his country will not interfere in Libyan affairs or the decisions of its institutions and explained that what concerns Rabat is the return of stability in Libya.

He further emphasized that Morocco keeps its door open for the Libyan parties to bring their views closer and create a suitable space for meetings for the interest of Libya.
