The administration of Tripoli-based Mitiga airport has falsified the rumors spread on social media and news pages about a flight of Ghadams Airlines that took off from Mitiga airport and touched down in Sirte airport.
The administration confirmed, in a statement, that such rumors are far from truth because the mentioned plane took off from Mitiga airport heading to Al-Khartoum airport in Sudan without landing in Sirte airport or any other place.
Additionally, the actual air track that any plane is supposed to fly through while heading toward Al-Khartoum or Al-Kufra airports must pass through the skies of southern Sirte city.
“Spreading this rumor aims at distorting the reputation of Ghadams Airlines, so all must be accurate when reporting news and make sure that those news are from well-confirmed sources.” The statement reads.
Formerly, some news pages on social media had reported news about a plane landing at Sirte airport coming from Tripoli-based Mitiga airport.
