The UN-proposed government and its Presidential Council must be expelled out of Tripoli, the Misrata elders and notables council said Wednesday.

The call came as a reaction to the statements of the UN-proposed government's foreign minister-designate Mohammed Sayala about Khalifa Haftar being the unquestionable commander of the Libyan army.

"Al-Sirraj government must be kicked out from Tripoli so that we can block the efforts aimed at enabling the coup leader and war criminal Khalifa Haftar." The statement says.

The council described Sayala as an impostor occupying the position of Libya's foreign minster, adding that Dignity Operation and Skhirat-signed agreement are two sides of the same coin.

"We call on the patriots who reject the coup to unite themselves and stand firm against Dignity Operation and Skhiart project." The statement adds.

Sayala's statement in Algeria spurred a considerable outrage in Libya and the latest criticism toward it came from the PC deputy, Ahmed Mitig, who described it as widening the dispute and conflict as well as division among Libyans, adding that such a statement goes at odds with the Libyan Political Agreement, which made him (Sayala) a foreign minister.
