The Ministry of Justice has expressed readiness to cooperate with Sweden in developing the prison system and draw on its experience in that connection.

Minister of Justice Halima Abdul Rahman received the Swedish Ambassador at her office on Sunday and discussed joint issues, including the migration file, revealing that the government has set a plan to deal with this file in liaison with all relevant ministries.

The minister reaffirmed Libya's commitment to promoting human rights and briefed the Swedish ambassador of the reforms set to improve conditions of prisons.

She also praised Sweden's position in support of human rights, especially the rights of women and children, expressing the ministry's readiness to cooperate with the Kingdom to benefit from Sweden's experience in developing prisons and integrating and rehabilitating prisoners.
