The Minister of Transport of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, met Wednesday with the Qatari ambassador to Libya,  Khaled Al-Dosari, to review a plan for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.

The plan covers activating the agreements concluded between the two countries in the field of aviation and air transport, and opening of training fields, according to the ministry’s statement on its Facebook account.

The meeting also dealt with ways to strengthen relations between the two countries in the field of transportation, and to review issues that were agreed upon during the visit of Minister Al-Shhoubi to the State of Qatar on November 10th.

In the course of that visit emphases were made on the need to activate the agreements concluded between the two countries in the field of aviation and air transport, and to allocate scholarships to a number of Libyan students in various fields.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of implementing training programmes and courses, by activating cooperation protocols signed between the two countries, rehabilitating a number of Libyan personnel in the field of civil aviation and air control, and raising the performance and efficiency of airport staff.

The statement quoted the Qatari ambassador as confirming the convergence of the two sides' views on the necessity of deepening the excellent relations, and the need  to work to advance cooperation in various fields, noting that the coming period will witness fruitful cooperation between the two countries.

Several officials from the Ministry of Transport were also at the meeting.
