Minister of Justice Mohamed Lamloum on Tuesday reviewed with the head of the Red Cross the medical and humanitarian services provided by the committee to inmates in the rehabilitation institutions, as well as the aspects of support to civilians in times of security crises and armed conflicts.

The two sides discussed during the meeting held at the Ministry of Justice HQ in Tripoli means of cooperation in building the capacity of local authorities, including the administration of corpses authority and how to make use of the Management of Dead Bodies Manual issued by the Red Cross.

In this context, the ministry affirmed the right of families to know the fate of their missing or deceased relatives.

For his part, the President of the Red Cross welcomed the efforts of the Ministry of Justice and its support for the human rights aspect of the released inmates.

He also confirmed support for the right of revealing the fate of all victims as it is a human right guaranteed by local laws and international agreements.

The Red Cross head emphasized the committee's keenness to fully support the judicial cadres, who have recently been affected by the health conditions that accompanied the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, according to the Ministry of Justice.
