Members of the joint force of Misurata and the Central Sector of the Coast Guard stormed on Tuesday evening the ship Nivin, which includes more than 80 Illegal migrants on board who refused to disembark in Libya.

A source from the joint force told the Libya Observer that the operation was authorized by the Attorney General, and in the presence of representatives from the countries of the migrants, after negotiations had failed.

The source added that the migrants were transferred to shelters in the cities of Misurata, Zliten and Al-Khoms to take the necessary procedures, while Amnesty International warned of disembarking them in Libya due to the risk of torture.

The migrants arrived at the port of Misurata 10 days ago, after intercepting their ship in the Mediterranean while trying to cross to Europe. The migrants refused to get off the ship before disembarking them by force yesterday.
