The Libyan Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) said Saturday it was looking for peaceful solutions to end the blockade of oil ports and fields and that it wouldn't allow Libya's wealth to remain "a hostage of mercenaries and criminals."

The Presidential Council added that Haftar's aggression repurcussions include killing, destruction, displacement, mine planting and more atrocities as well as blockading Libyans' main source of income: oil.

The Presidential Council said blockading oil production and exports didn't only cost Libya billions but also damaged oil facilities, their infrastructure, valves and pipelines as well as natural gas supplies.

"Fixing all of this damage needs time and huge funds, a thing that the state cannot afford, especially in these hard times." The Presidential Council indicated.

It called on Libya's international partners, especially those which have companies working in Libyan oil sector, to take up their responsibilities against the Libyan parties and the states backing their sabotage acts.

"We are looking for peaceful solutions to end this mess but we won't be patient for long as we won't allow Libyans' wealth to be at the mercy of criminals and mercenaries."

Commander of Petroleum Facilities Guard Ali Al-Deeb told reporters last week that his forces were waiting for orders to liberate oil fields and ports from Haftar's forces.
