The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, said they are working hard on ensuring the success of elections in the country by establishing the necessary assurances of fair and democratic process that reflects the will of the people.

Menfi added Saturday in a speech at the National Conference for Youth that the Presidential Council supports initiatives by the Libyan youths, including their participation in elections, saying they are qualified to be at the top levels of state institutions to help build a strong, fair and democratic state.

He indicated that the Presidential Council is aware of the challenges facing Libya, expressing fear of going back to old conflicts and aggravated suffering of people over the last years, and saying that the youth should now take the initiative and make the right decisions that enable reconciliation.

Menfi also hailed the participation of young women in the committees organizing the conference and in attendance, which shows their qualification to be in the top levels of state institutions, adding that the national reconciliation project aims to build bridges among Libyans and it cannot be done without the participation of the youth.
