The ambassador and special envoy of the United States to Libya, Richard Norland, reviewed Saturday in a meeting with the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, in Tunis the unification of military, security, and other institutions in Libya.

The US embassy said in a brief statement on Facebook that Norland and Menfi had also discussed issues of national reconciliation, removal of foreign fighters, and elections in December.

It also said that Norland and Menfi had discussed improving security conditions in the south to better deal with issues such as human trafficking and the presence of mercenaries.

On Thursday, Norland said he had a good discussion with the High National Elections Commission's Head, Emad Al-Sayeh, about the international community's support for Libya’s general elections next December.
