Libya's Presidential Council Head, Muhammed Menfi, has met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the UN (UNGA), the Anadolu Agency reported Wednesday.

Menfi arrived in New York with Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqoush last Monday to participate in the 76th session of the UNGA.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry urged all Libyan parties to "act responsibly and focus on the country's priorities" in response to the House of Representatives' decision to withdraw confidence from the unity government.

It expressed concern that the no-confidence vote against the unity government could undermine the stability of Libya and its transitional period.

The statement stressed the need for the transitional government to stay in office until conducting the elections as planned in the UN-led road map.

It also underscored the importance of maintaining calm in the country to ensure a successful transition to the next stage.
