The Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed Menfi, received the German ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, to discuss the latest political situation in Libya.
A statement by the PC said the two sides reviewed the PC's efforts to drive the political process towards an electoral process held on a constitutional basis agreed upon by all.
They reiterated the importance of national reconciliation to achieve stability in the country.
Menfi praised Germany's efforts to find a solution to the Libyan crisis through the Berlin Conferences (1) and (2) and with the participation of all political parties and through peaceful tracks.
In turn, the German ambassador affirmed his country's support for the PC's efforts in unifying state institutions and working on the file of national reconciliation.
He also welcomed the UN initiative regarding setting a constitutional basis for any planned elections.
