As the mission of the Community of Sahel–Saharan States (CEN-SAD) prepares to return to Libya, the Head of the Presidential Council (PC) Muhammed Menfi said the step is a sign to the world that Libya is heading towards stability.

Menfi made his remarks during a meeting Tuesday with the Executive Secretary of the CEN-SAD, Brigi Rafini, who is currently visiting Libya.

A statement by the PC head media office said the CEN-SAD delegation is in Tripoli to oversee the final arrangements for the return of the General Secretariat of the Assembly to its headquarters in Tripoli, noting that Rafini is the first CEN-SAD Executive Secretary to visit Tripoli in years.

Rafini said no impediments are preventing the return of the CEN-SAD's mission to function from its headquarters in Tripoli, as the country reported a stable situation recently.

Rafini and his accompanying delegation began a visit to Libya on Sunday, during which he met several officials. He also inspected the General Secretariat of the CEN-SAD HQ in Tripoli to get an insight into the preparations for its resumption from Tripoli.
