The member of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) Mohammed Al-Sari, said Tuesday that it is time for the CDA to submit the referendum law to the Electoral Commission to start the referendum process on the draft constitution.

Al-Sari stressed in a press statement that the House of Representatives (HoR) is considered expired constitutionally and morally, explaining that the paragraphs of the constitutional declaration stipulate that in case of a "No" vote on the draft constitution, the assembly will amend and submit the draft constitution to the referendum again.

He also pointed out to the absence of an explicit provision that obliges the HoR to establish a referendum law, indicating that the constitutional declaration is sufficient because it includes the framework governing the referendum.

The HoR postponed the vote on the referendum law for the fourth consecutive time, the last of which was in yesterday's session where the vote was postponed until after the Eid holidays.
