A Maltese delegation - Head of Maltese Civil Aviation and his Assistant - visited Tripoli's Mitiga airport Saturday to inspect the measures taken at the airport for arriving and departing flights.

The delegation met with the Head of Airports Authority of the Government of National Accord Mohammed Fasatwi, and General Manager of Mitiga airport Abdelmonem Al-Gammudi and discussed operational work as well as security measures, and international standards of airport operations.

The discussions focused on several points that Mitiga airport should attend to before resuming flights between Libya and Malta.

On Thursday, Malta's Foreign Minister, Evarist Bartolo, said their consulate in Tripoli would soon reopen as they evaluate resuming flights between the two countries, the media office of the Government of National Unity (not yet approved by the parliament) said.
