The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) will hold a virtual meeting on August 11 to discuss the outcomes of the Proposals Bridging Committee (PBC) on the constitutional basis for the December elections.

The meeting comes after the PBC concluded its deliberations on July 16, 27, 30, and August 2, which resulted in four proposals for the constitutional basis for the December 24 elections, according to a statement issued by the UN mission on Friday.

UN envoy, Jan Kubis, referred the four proposals for the constitutional basis set by the PBC to the LPDF on Friday.

“When considering any of these proposals, it is important that you fully respect the condition that none of these proposals prejudice the commitment you made to the Libyan people to hold elections within the timeframe set by the roadmap”, Kubis said in a letter to the LPDF, adding that the members that the PBC had also reached an agreement on a voting mechanism.
