The Government of National Unity (GNU) has joined the international community in their call for Russia not to launch a military attack against Ukraine.

"We reaffirm our commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity," a statement by the GNU's foreign ministry said, urging Russia to de-escalate and withdraw its military forces on the Ukrainian borders.

The government emphasized that it would not recognize the independence of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic or the Luhansk People’s Republic.

It also condemned "the illegal presence" of the Wagner group in Ukraine and Libya.

"We call on Russia to use the language of diplomacy and dialogue instead of violence and war," the statement concluded.
