The Presidential Council urged Sunday for the passing of 2021 budget so the government can fulfill its commitment and provide services to people as per the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum's roadmap.

The Presidential Council added that it was following with concern the discussions between the Financial Committees of the House of Representatives and Government of National Unity on technical issues in the budget bill.

The House of Representatives failed to pass the budget for seven times over the last two months and delayed discussions till after Eid Al-Adha holiday.

The budget has not yet been called for a vote by the House of Representatives due to what observers described as an intentional delay by some members who support Haftar and publicly state their rejection to the budget bill if it hasn't a chapter that allocates money to Haftar's forces, which was reiterated by House of Representatives Speaker Aqil Saleh in a meeting in Rajma with the latter.
