The member of the Presidential Council Ammari Zayed said the Berlin conference on Libya should expand the attendees' list to include Libya's neighbouring countries.

In a meeting with the Italian ambassador Giuseppe Grimaldi, Ammari talked about the dangers of the Russian military intelligence in support of Khalifa Haftar, which prolonged the conflict in Libya.

Ammari reiterated that the Presidential Council's government is continuing to defend Tripoli and the civil state against Haftar's attack and that there can be no political negotiation with the attackers who believe in military solutions, mobilizing fighters from several nationalities.

Meanwhile, the Italian ambassador renewed his country's support for the Presidential Council's government and its agreement with the need to include neighbouring countries of Libya at the Berlin conference on Libya, saying Italy is working on making the conference a success with Germany.

On Wednesday, the Italian ambassador met with the Head of High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri, discussing the preparations of the Berlin conference and the repercussions of the war on Tripoli.

Italy's ambassador reiterated to Al-Mishri that his country's rejection of the war on Tripoli is unaltered in comparison to other countries' stances, which he said are somehow ambiguous.
