The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said Tuesday that the candidates for the interim government's Presidential Council failed to get 70% or more (of each region) in the voting that was carried out by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum's (LPDF) members in Geneva, announcing that the next round of voting will be for the list method to be formed next Thursday and voted on Friday.
A winning candidate of each of the three regions in Libya: east, west and south, should get 70% of the cast votes of the regional electoral college, and if not; the 75 LPDF members will vote on electoral lists of candidates.
According to UNSMIL, the western region's electoral college (37 members) gave the most votes for Khalid Al-Mishri (8 votes) then (5 votes) for Mohammed Al-Hafi and Edris Al-Gayed, while Salah Al-Namroush got (4 votes).
Tobruk-based House of Representatives' Speaker, Aqila Saleh, got (9 votes) from the cast votes of the eastern region's electoral college, followed by Al-Sharif Al-Wafi with (6 votes) and Mohammad Al-Manfi (5 votes).
Southern electoral college gave the most votes (6) to Abdelmajid Saif Al-Nasser, followed by Omar Busharida (5 votes) and Mousa Al-Kouni - former Presidential Council member - got (2 votes).
