The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) has reported the presence of a warship in Ras Lanuf oil port, adding in a statement on Facebook that the warship entered the terminal on Saturday, 05 September 2020, and at present remains in port.

"In recent days, NOC has recorded several security breaches at Ras Lanuf, the most recent at the end of last week involving the discharge of live ammunition." The statement reads.

The NOC added that Ras Lanuf contains oil installations whose damage could pose a significant risk to lives and the environment.

Meanwhile, an NOC spokesman stated that the NOC "demands the immediate withdrawal of all military personnel from its facilities to protect the safety of its employees and the integrity of its infrastructure."

The spokesman said the NOC cannot tolerate the lives of its employees being put at risk or its facilities being damaged or destroyed by illegal military activity.

The NOC reported more than one military violations at oil facilities in recent days, most recently opening fire inside the Ras Lanuf oil port, which endangered lives as well as risked causing damage to the facilities.
