The Grand Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Ghariani, has called for holding an expanded conference that would bring together fighters, scholars, and experts, to choose who would represent them in all upcoming dialogues.

Sheikh Al-Sadiq stressed, through his weekly program Islam and Life, on Wednesday, the need for all segments of society to have a voice in the existing dialogues, saying that the fate of the Libyan people, should not be reduced to the UN mission's options.

The Mufti also denounced the UN mission’s statements, in which it threatened those who oppose the current dialogue.

"The UN mission's role is limited to calling for a genuine dialogue," said the Mufti, citing that the dialogue representatives have been chosen arbitrarily, which he considered as tampering with the fate of the country and the people.
