Mitiga Airport in the Libyan capital Tripoli has suspended flights for few hours due to the presence of drones in the area, the director of the airport Lutfi Al- Tabib told Libya Al-Ahrar TV channel.
The airport's Facebook page reported that the decision was made after depicting a drone 5000 feet high in the vicinity, which could endanger the lives on board civilian planes.
It added that the arrivals to Mitiga Airport will be redirected to Misrata Airport until the resumption decision is made.
On March 5-6, the airport suspended flights over the same reason as per orders by the civil aviation authority to ensure the safety of both crews and passengers.
Up until now, there's no claim of responsibility by any party - local or international - and there's no statement by authorities about probing the issue.
