Misrata's different components have rejected the rule of military, disowning anyone from their city who makes deals with "Khalifa Haftar's gangs."

In a statement issued on Sunday, Misrata municipality, elders council, military council, revolutionaries and residents' representatives refused the methods used by "the illegitimate person Haftar" to seize power and authorities, saying they won't be silent toward the "war criminal's deeds."

The statement called on Libyans who reject dictatorship and military rule, and hope for the building of a civilian state to unite in driving away "the big conspiracy" led by "war criminal Haftar."

"Misrata is helpful to anyone who wishes to build a civilian state, a state of law and order and peaceful circulation of power without any room for military coups." The statement reads.

It adds that the UN and international community should respect the aspirations of Libyans and prevent negative foreign interventions, which have prolonged Libya's crisis.

"We condemn the way with which the UNSMIL is dealing with Haftar - the criminal who shed the blood of Libyans." The statement further remarks.

Likewise, Elders and Dignitaries Council of Tajoura has lashed out at the "dubious role of the UNSMIL" regarding the Libyan crisis, condemning its support for "war criminal" Khalifa Haftar.
