The Libyan High Council of State members re-elected Khalid Al-Mishri as the Head of the consultative body for a fourth term that extends for a year.

The members elected Al-Mishri by 73 votes out of 128 to put him ahead of his opponent candidate Salah Mito, who came second with Al-Mishri in the first round of votes leaving Saied Kala in third place.

The members also elected Masoud Abeid as the first deputy head and Omar Bushah as the second deputy head.

Following his win, Al-Mishri said in a televised statement that the High Council of State needed to work on "brotherhood- relationship spirit" and he hoped everyone would learn the "elections lesson" that they carried out.
