Libya's top religious cleric has urged the country's political rivals to get rid of UN-backed Skhirat agreement  and unite with each other to bring peace and stability to the country again.

Speaking in his weekly program on Tanasuh TV on Wednesday, Grand Mufti Sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani criticized the UN-backed Libyan political agreement saying it will only bring peril to the country.

"You should wash your hands of this agreement, you have seen UN projects in Syria, Yemen and Iraq," he indicated.

He also called the political rivals to get rid of political terms and sit together to find a solution to the ongoing political crisis.

"We don't want the HoR, GNC or Skhirat agreement, let's sit together and find a new proposal to the crisis to save our country," he suggested.

During the program, he urged Tripoli's impartial elders to form committees to eradicate terrorism from the capital, which are murder, bloodshed and abduction according to him.
