The spokesman of the Libyan Foreign Ministry Mohammed Al-Giblawi said Tuesday that the statement by Egyptian Foreign Ministry's spokesman about the Presidential Council is a kind of "teenage diplomacy" and has nothing to do with state diplomatic statements.

Al-Giblawi told The Libya Observer that that the Egyptian spokesman's statement about Libya isn't acceptable, saying the Foreign Ministry found such a statement very strange and unjustified escalation on the side of Egypt, which should play a positive role in for the stability of its neighboring country.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafiz hinted on Twitter at his country's unrecognition of the Presidential Council in Libya.

"What is the Presidential Council, which issued a statement on Egypt. We know it consists of 9 members, where are they now?" He said.

His remarks came after the Presidential Council had issued a statement expressing rejection to Abdel Fattah El Sisi's statement which said "the Government of National Accord is a hostage to militias" and hinted at direct intervention in Libya.

In a statement on Monday, the Presidential Council said despite understanding Egypt's right to defend its national security, "we don't accept any threats to Libyan sovereignty".

"Egypt should play its role in supporting stability in Libya instead of supporting illegitimate armed groups led by a war criminal who launched an offensive against Tripoli." The statement reads.
