The Libyan Foreign Ministry has asked the Tunisian authorities for coordination before taking any action regarding the Libyan warplane that landed on Monday morning in Mednine.

According to a source from the ministry, meetings for the Libyan Chargé d'affaires in Tunis with Tunisian Foreign and Defense Ministries about the issue are about to take place.

A source from the Libyan embassy in Tunis said they had formed a commission in Sfax to stay in contact with Tunisian authorities about the warplane.

A Libyan L39 warplane landed in Bani Ghazal in southern Mednine in Tunisia and according to the Tunisian Defense Ministry, the pilot said he had a technical malfunction that led him to make an emergency landing.

Meanwhile, a Libyan military source has confirmed that the L39 was for Khalifa Haftar's Air Force and it had taken off from Brak Al-Shatti airbase, adding that the GPS device was damaged and the pilot lost destination so he had to land in Tunisia after the aircraft's fuel ran out.
