The Libyan Navy said its patrols had rescued 31 illegal immigrants on a dinghy off the shores of Sabratha.

The Navy's media office said most immigrants were from Sudan, Ivory Coast and Chad, adding that they were sent to Al-Zawiya Oil Refinery for medical aid and then were transferred to Al-Nasser detention center in Al-Zawiya.

On Sunday, the Libyan Navy patrols rescued 71 immigrants off Al-Khums shores then released them as no concerned authorities responded to their requests to lodge them in migration centers in the city.

The Navy also denied Sunday the report of the UNHCR that a report that a boat of 50 immigrants had capsized and the immigrants drowned off the Libyan coast.
