The Libyan Army forces have thwarted an attack by Khalifa Haftar's forces on Sabea frontline, said the media office of Volcano of Rage Operation of the Presidential Council's government.

The media office added that the Libyan Army forces also foiled Sunday an attack by Haftar's forces on Al-Sawani frontline and captured two fighters, while they secured the Yarmouk Camp and Sawarikh Camp after a surprise attack by Haftar's forces at dawn.

Backed by five warplanes, Haftar's forces carried out Sunday dawn an attack on Baer Alaq area near Sabea district - 40 km from Tripoli - using the heavy clashes keeping Libyan Army forces busy on Khalit Al-Furjan and Yarmouk Camp frontlines.

After reinforcement arrived, Libyan Army forces regained the area near Sabea district from Haftar's forces and then kept following the rest of Haftar's forces to inside the district of Sabea.

Volcano of Rage operations room sources said the Air Force carried out five airstrikes on Haftar's forces positions on different frontlines since Sunday dawn.

Meanwhile, social media activists circulated photos showing Russian mercenaries from Wagner Group and said they were fighting for Haftar's forces in Saturday and Sunday clashes.
