The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj has issued two decrees degrading the military rank of the Chief of Staff Abdelrahman Al-Taweel to Brigadier General - which is his rank before Al-Sirraj promoted him - and ending his military service effective immediately.

Al-Taweel made news two days ago when he by Al-Sirraj, saying he won't hand over his post to his replacement "Mohammed Al-Sharif," and that Al-Sirraj dismissed him in an individual decision "and that is illegal."

Al-Sirraj sacked Al-Taweel last February and replaced him with Mohammed Al-Sharif.

On Monday, Al-Sirraj met with commanders of Sabha, Tripoli, and western military zones to discuss the developments in the different regions.

According to the statement after the meeting, Al-Sirraj who is described as "The Commander in Chief of the Libyan Army." has been briefed about the military and security statuses in those regions.
