The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj met Wednesday with a delegation of Libyan eastern region's elders in Tunisia, where a rejection was voiced to the "cowardly offensive" in Tripoli by Khalifa Haftar's forces.

Al-Sarraj called on the eastern delegation to stand in the way of the attempts to break the social fabric of Libya, saying the role of the eastern elders and dignitaries is very vital in saving the social unity in the country.

Al-Sarraj said the most crucial thing to work on nowadays is avoiding more bloodshed, saying some are trying to say that conflict is between west and east but the truth is that it is between those who want the civilian state and those who want the military rule.

"I urge all eastern tribes to withdraw their sons from the battle that is benefiting the interests of an individual who wishes to seize power." Al-Sarraj added.

The delegation rejected the war on Tripoli, saying it doesn't represent Cyrenaica region, announcing the formation of a Cyrenaica Society.

The High Council of State's member Ahmed Langi said the Cyrenaica Society is formed from all eastern tribes and social components, saying its members will be meeting with ambassadors from foreign countries, including EU and Arab countries, to convey the true message of eastern region in Libya regarding the war on Tripoli.

Langi added that the head and deputy head of the society will visit Libyan cities to show the real stance of Cyrenaica region regarding the attack on Tripoli and to strike dialogue to end the fighting.
