The General Law Administration (GLA) of the Libyan Judiciary Supreme Council has issued a new law that deprives Libyans who have foreign citizenships from working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The new law orders Libyans, who have a dual citizenship, to be stripped of their Libyan citizenship by force of law, stressing that they should be dismissed from foreign ministry positions.

The GLA’s new law is based on the first and fifth articles of the law 24 for the year 2010, which state that the Libyans should be stripped of their Libyan citizenships if they acquired a foreign citizenship without prior permission by the Ministry of the Interior.
