The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has congratulated Kais Saied on winning the elections to become the new Tunisian president.

The media office of Al-Sarraj said the latter called Sunday night Saied and congratulated him on the trust put in him by the Tunisian people, hailing the democratic process done in Tunisia that puts first the will of the people regardless of political differences.

The Tunisian president-elect told Al-Sarraj that the stability of Libya entails that of Tunisia and that he will be working toward achieving security and peace in Libya.

Likewise, the Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri also congratulated Kais Saied on becoming Tunisia's president, saying the country has celebrated a democratic achievement by electing him and wishing that Libya would do the same soon.

Al-Mishri said achieving democracy by reaching transparent elections would be a means of glorifying the sacrifices of all Libyans.

The Speaker of the Tripoli-based House of Representatives Al-Sadiq Al-Kahili also congratulated Kais Saied on becoming the new Tunisian president.
