The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, has called on the Attorney General’s Office to open a probe into the bodies found on Benghazi streets, giving orders to the Minister of Interior, Khalid Mazen, to tackle the incident.

The Prime Minister reiterated that such crimes won’t happen again, saying looking away from such incidents or covering them up under any pretext won’t be acceptable, offering his condolences to the families of the victims.

On Thursday, eight bodies were found behind a cement factory in Hawari, Benghazi, and on Friday two others were found thrown beachside in western Benghazi, all bearing marks of torture, gunshots to the head and handcuffed, according to a statement by Libyan Crimes Watch.

Libyan Crimes Watch said the bodies were transferred to Benghazi Medical Center by pro-Haftar Brigade 155 amid heavy security.
