Libya’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani, has condemned the arrest of Sheikh Abdul-Razzaq Emshirib, the imam of Ben Nabi Mosque in central Tripoli.
The Mufti called during his weekly program on Tanasuh TV for the immediate release of Sheikh Emshirib.
He indicated that those who stand with the people of Derna end up in prison on alleged charges of ISIS membership, in reference to Emshirib’s support to Derna and his calls for lifting the siege of the city during his Friday sermons.
Sheikh Abdul-Razzaq Emshirib was arrested by the Special Deterrence Force early this week without being charged.
