The Libyan Justice Minister Mohammed Abdelwahid briefed Wednesday a number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions as well as international organizations on the status of human rights in the country.

The Ministry of Justice said the Minister briefed the diplomats via video conference technology and talked about the challenges faced by the Government of National Accord to ensure no violations of human rights take place in the country.

The Minister reviewed the measures taken by the Ministry of Justice to prepare an annual report on the conditions of human rights in Libya to be discussed at the Human Rights Council of the UN in November.

He also talked about the GNA and his Ministry's efforts t protect human rights, such as improving prisons' conditions, working to end arbitrary detention and impunity.

The Minister stressed the importance of support from the international community and friend countries to push forward the reform underway by the GNA in issues of human rights.
