The Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha and Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio discussed in Rome Wednesday cooperation in several fields, especially in security.

Bashagha also met with the Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese and discussed forming a joint anti-illegal-immigration room, reviewing ways to limit the flow of illegal immigrants and the repercussions of this issue on the region.

They also reviewed training of Interior Ministry cadres in coastal security, operating drones, logistics, and border monitoring.

"We hail the efforts of the Libyan Interior Ministry in combating illegal immigration as it is a European Union priority." The Italian Interior Minister indicated.

According to Italian news agency (Aki), the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj and Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala will arrive in Rome on Thursday.
