Khalifa Haftar - the commander of the self-styled Libyan army in east Libya - has ordered the director of crime investigation department Salah Al-Hawidi to welcome any recruitment application from the fighters of Special Tasks Force of the deputy interior minister Faraj Egaiem, media office's head of the crime investigation department in Benghazi, Walid Al-Arfi has disclosed.

Egaiem himself came under attack inside his own headquarters in eastern Benghazi. His whereabouts are still unknown.

Al-Arfi told Libyan News Agency in Al-Bayda that the department of crime investigation will welcome the fighters as per Haftar's orders, saying that their registration will be at the department in Hadaek neighborhood in Benghazi before they become part of the law enforcement.

Meanwhile on Friday, the deputy interior minister gave rogue General Khalifa Haftar and his armed groups, mainly from Furjan tribe, 48 hours ultimatum to leave Benghazi or they will face the consequences, accusing him of being behind the murders and explosions taking place in the region over the last period.

However, forces from Dignity Operation led by Haftar stormed Saturday the headquarters of Special Tasks Force headed by Egaiem in Bodzira, Benghazi. The pro-Haftar forces controlled the building after Egaiem and his forces withdrew to Bersis, in eastern Benghazi.

Relatedly, the Military Prosecutor of Dignity Operation, Faraj Al-Sosah, issued an arrest warrant of Egaiem, whose fate is still a matter of speculation, knowing that some news said he surrendered, while others said he ran away.
