The Panel of Experts, tasked to revise and amend Libyan laws to be compatible with the Islamic Sharia, Wednesday, handed over the revised version of Libyan Civil Code to the GNC for approval.

Chairman of the panel Dr. Ghait Al-Fakhri, who is also the Deputy Grand Mufti of Libya, said that the Libyan Civil Code, which consists of 1151 articles, has been completely revised, and 91 articles thereof were amended to agree with the provisions of the Islamic Sharia law.

He further stated that the Panel of Experts, formed four months ago by the GNC to review the laws, is made up of lawyers, Sheikhs, and researchers in all related disciplines.
