The spokesman of the Libyan Army Mohammed Gununu said the army forces had seized in Gharyan liberation battle 70 military vehicles, UAE-made Nimr armored vehicles, three drones, sophisticated weapons and US missiles, adding that they had destroyed about 70 vehicles for Khalifa Haftar's forces.

In a joint presser with Gharyan's mayor Yusef Bdairi in the city on Saturday that the seized weapons were sent to the concerned authorities and specialized commissions in order to document them to later send reports to political parties and hence figure out how they arrived in Libya.

"Gharyan was bombed with airstrikes by Haftar's warplanes after the liberation. Most airstrikes were on Thamina Camp - the arms depot of Haftar's militias." Gununu said.

He explained that the intelligence of one of the supporting countries to Haftar set up a sophisticated operations room with mercenary fighters, saying the Libyan Army seized the main operations room for Haftar's forces and captured several foreign mercenaries.

"We will announce the names of the countries that helped bring weapons to Haftar inside Libya after all cities are liberated. We will not rest till all cities under Haftar's control are liberated too." Gununu said.

Gununu also gave those "lured into the fighting" a chance to surrender and receive a fair trial, saying that 150 fighters from Haftar's forces had been detained, including foreign mercenaries in Gharyan.

Mayor of Gharyan hailed the city's resilience during "occupation of Haftar's forces" and praised their bravery in pushing Haftar's forces out without any retaliatory actions and inhumane acts.

The mayor said they were preparing an emergency humanitarian relief plan to provide the necessary services to people in Gharyan.
