The spokesman for Sirte-Jufra Operations Room Abdelhadi Drah said the air defenses of the Government of National Accord (GNA) forces had downed a drone for Khalifa Haftar's forces in Al-Wishka as it was trying to target GNA positions in the area.

Drah said in a press briefing that GNA forces had destroyed military vehicles for Haftar's forces as they attempted to advance on Alloud frontline in southern Abu Grein, confirming that several mercenaries fighting for Haftar's forces had been killed, including the founder of Chaidan Opposition Labor Party Jadi Nakour, who was killed in airstrikes in Al-Wishka.

Drah said several civilians were injured last week in explosion of two civilian cars due to landmines planted by Haftar's militias on the road linking Abu Grein to Jufra, adding that the Operations Room was ready to respond to any attacks by Haftar's forces and was awaiting orders to advance on Al-Wishka, Jufra and Sirte.

Meanwhile, the commander of Sirte-Jufra Operations Room Ibrahim Baytalmal said the situation is stable on Abu Grein frontline as Libyan Air Force warplanes were keeping an eye on any "movements by the enemy".

The Chadian Opposition Labor Party accused days ago in a statement Haftar of assassinating Nakour and his driver, threatening to probe the incident and bring the assassins to justice.
