The Libyan Army forces under the command of the Presidential Council's government launched an attack on Khalifa Haftar's forces positions in Urban town, some 30 km to southeastern Gharyan, and managed to enter and seize most of the town, a source from Burkan Al-Ghadab (Volcano of Rage) Operation said on Wednesday.

The source added that Haftar's forces were pushed back to Jaafra area in the center of Urban town, while Libyan Army forces destroyed four of their armored vehicles, indicating that seizing control of Urban is crucial as it is a very significant supply line for Haftar's forces toward Tarhouna.

Forces loyal to Haftar left Tuesday Urban town for a short time and positioned themselves at a Ghout Al-Reeh checkpoint between Gharyan and Urban and then went back to previous positions.

Gharyan Protection Force sent earlier a delegation to Urban town and Al-Asabea to convince them to instruct their sons to leave Haftar's forces and avoid the towns this tragic war, but the talks failed.

In the meantime, the commander of Anti-terrorism Force's control room Ali Buzayan said Libyan Air Force jets destroyed a helicopter laden with ammunition on Tarhouna runway.

Buzayan said most frontlines are seeing an uneasy calm with recurrent targeting of Haftar's forces by artillery shelling and airstrikes.
