A source from Volcano of Rage operation has confirmed that the Libyan Army forces entered and controlled the majority of Tripoli International Airport after advancing on it from three fighting axes as part of an intensive offensive.

The spokesman for the media office of Volcano of Rage Operation Mustafa Al-Majea said their forces controlled Wednesday most parts of the airport and entered the VIP lounge.

Social media activists posted photos and footage for the seized vehicles and tanks from Khalifa Haftar's forces as well as for bodies of Haftar's fighters left behind after fleeing the airport.

Meanwhile, Abu Salim Central Security forces of Volcano of Rage Operation said it had advanced on Qasir Benghashir and entered Kazirma checkpoint - a vital position held by Haftar's forces.

Other forces under the Presidential Council government's command launched another offensive in line with the airport one on Ain Zara and Wadi rabbi frontlines, carrying out heavy artillery shelling on Haftar's forces positions.

The spokesman for the Libyan Army Mohammed Gununu said Libyan Air Force carried out six airstrikes, one of which destroyed Sukhoi aircraft in Al-Watiya airbase for Haftar's forces.
