The meetings of Libyan 5+5 joint military commission talks have kicked off in Ghadames in southwest Libya to discuss the implementation of ceasefire agreement.

UNSMIL said in a statement on Monday that the talks started in the presence of the UN acting envoy Stephanie Williams who is attending the first meeting inside Libya after signing the ceasefire agreement in Geneva on October 23.

The meetings will go on for three days and will go over mechanisms to consolidate and monitor ceasefire on the ground, in addition to forming committees to oversee the implementation of the ceasefire.

The first 5+5 military talks for the Government of National Accord and Khalifa Haftar's delegations started in February and reached in October a ceasefire agreement across Libya.
