A MIG 21 crashed as it was carrying out ceremonial mission as part of Khalifa Haftar's so-called Operation Dignity seventh anniversary in Benina - Benghazi, killing the pilot Jamal bin Amer, sources from the parade have confirmed.

No details about the cause of the crash have been released yet by the so-called General Command of Haftar's forces.

Haftar attended Saturday the self-styled army parade with his military leaderships. During the procession, Haftar boldly announced that his war on Tripoli in 2019 was the right decision and urged the Government of National Unity to compensate people for the damage his forces did to the capital and its southern parts.

“We will never regret it. We will keep our finger on the trigger to establish peace by force.” He stated.

It's worth mentioning that Haftar had invited the Prime Minister and the Head of Presidential Council to attend his military parade, but both had evaded the procession by traveling on visits to Algeria and Tunisia respectively.
