The Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) signed Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen decentralization and sub-nationla governance with the United Kingdom's government.

Libya's GNA was represented by Presidential Council member Mohammed Zayed and UK was represented by its embassy officials. The signing took place in Tripoli as part of the goals set by the GNA to achieve decentralization via the high commission of transferring competences.

"Tazeez" program aims to contribute to better and more responsive government services in municipalities across Libya, boosing the work of executive authorities on central and municipal levels, and improving coordination between Local Governance Ministry and branch authorities.

The program, which is funded by the UK, aims to support sub-national government services to be more responsive to local development.
